Why are some phobias more common than others? - phobias more condition_treatment

Just curious, because I was looking through a list of phobias and some of them I have never thought possible. So why the fear of spiders is widespread, even though I never met a man afraid of Figure 8? Is it something psychological?

Phobias develop when you screamed the fear of something that can not really handle (like his father or transmitted disease) in fear of something completely independent. They are like a bookmark or favorite place of real fear.

Pickle phobia may have resulted from a severe case of food poisoning. The fear of thunderstorms may actually be the lack of control that more than an alcoholic partner and is angry. The transfer is for everyone else, and the list of fears of transmission is very long.

Since the process is unconscious, can be almost impossible to follow a phobia of returning to its origin, without psychiatric help. To answer your question, have things like spiders get a bad reputation, for example in a dirty house or poisonous bite. Many people, including youth organizations, were ashamed to be that dirty, or off-mouth, "a father. Therefore, they may develop a fear above all is associated with dirty or to attack with words.

Phobias are from different social environments, such as television and what your parents say. These seeds of fear is triggered if you experience that must be added. In the mind of the Phobic, which was maintained by a society have many things to fear. Very few people in America are afraid of bats. It is a cultural thing!

Since some of these fears are innate. Those that are innate, are more likely to be unusual because they help us escape evolution can predators, etc., as the 8-pickle phobia phobia and only happen by chance, but his innate too. However, do not serve a higher purpose and therefore it is not so common.

many of the phobias on the list are very very very very dangerous (in all cases) diagnosed condition in the medical psychology ... most of the phobias in the lists on the site are drawn from their words of Greek or Latin, and combine them with "phobia" suffix, which the Greek word "phobos" is fear.
