A MIG welder is easier to use. I recommend that up to 200 A or less good penetration and a better allocation cycle. Also produce better, cleaner welds, I'd used an inert (a mixture of argon, carbon dioxide) as the son of the thicket. You do not want to break any part of the vehicle at a bad time.

A small 120-volt MIG welding is an excellent work. MIG is easy to learn. Check Sam's Club, Costco, or ads in local newspapers under Tools.
Mine works great.
